Joseph Krawczyk’s “Living the Play: A Dangerous Time for Women”, directed by Eddie Lew, with Chelsea Clark as Crystal and Nathan Cusson as Jeremy, at the American Theatre of Actors in May 7-18, 2025.
The playwright states:
I wrote this play after the election because I feared what was to come, and so much has happened since Roe v Wade was overturned. In this two-character play within a play, an intimate relationship unravels, revealing the true human cost when personal rights become political weapons.
To keep their memory alive, this play is dedicated to Amber Thurman, Taysha Sobieski, Josseli Barnica, Yennifer Alvarez-Estrada Glick, Porsha Ngumezi, Naraeh Crain, and Candi Miller, to name just a few, who had died from a lack of timely, reproductive care.
As reproductive freedoms crumble, an intimate relationship unravels, revealing the true human cost when personal rights become political weapons.
